Greg Jonkajtys is a director, animator and visual development artist who graduated from Warsaw's Academy of Fine Arts, and has worked in the animation, feature film and commercials industry for the last 20 years.
Greg directed his first animated short Mantis in 2000, and won several international awards including the BAF and Imagina Independent Talent Award.
While working in Poland for Platige image, and in the USA for Digital Kitchen, Cafefx, Syndicate, and Industrial Light & Magic, Greg has contributed as a visual-effects artist and lead animator for such films as Sin City, Hellboy, Pan’s labyrinth, Mist, Rango, Pacific Rim, Star Wars Ep VII, Warcraft and The Revenant, among many others.
He is most noted for writing and directing his second film Ark, for which he was nominated for the Golden Palm at Cannes film festival in 2007, and won the prestigious Siggraph Electronic Theater Best of Show award in the same year. In 2010 Greg completed work on The 3rd Letter, a live-action sci-fi drama that received a number of awards at film festivals around the country including Best Director Award at Holly Shorts Film Festival in Los Angeles 2010.
Greg is currently developing an animated feature film "Teddy Floppy Ear" with TFP Poland, a live-action sci-fi/horror "Mothership" with DJ2 Entertainment and Little Engine, a live-action/animation hybrid TV series for History Channel, and a live-action horror/thriller "Forget Me Not" with Traverse Media.
